Free Birds

Navya is an untouchable. Poor, oppressed, and humiliated, untouchables are treated like outcasts. They are considered so inferior, that no one should even touch their shadows! But Navya has had enough…

Through Free Birds, I want to teach kids about the caste system, a part of history in India that most kids don't learn about. My primary goal, has been to teach young kids that discriminating against others for their race, religion, gender, ethnicity, or other parts of their identity is not okay. I want kids to learn about the importance of equity at a young age, and by reading Free Birds, I believe that kids can become more worldly, knowledgable, and loving towards their community.

I was lucky that I got to spread my message -  I have had the opportunity to visit various schools and rotary clubs. Through my journey, my novel has been featured in various forms of media. To learn more about my book, check out the links below!
